Gustaf, Frederick & Isabel

The trio “Gustaf, Frederick & Isabel” was born in the autumn of 2015 during a joyful event: a carte blanche performance at the Théâtre du Petit Globe in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland.

The tender and warm tenor saxophone of Araxi Karnusian, the pulsating bass of Björn Meyer, and the enchanting sounds of Park Stickney’s harp create a contrasting atmosphere that leads to an imaginary journey of original compositions, forming a true musical “menage à trois.”

Dahingetupfter Jazz

Dabbed Jazz

The group Gustaf, Frédéric & Isabel (Friday, August 2nd) has ushered in nothing less than a reinvention of the jazz trio. The standard instruments bass, piano and drums are replaced by bass, harp and saxophone – a combination that allows expeditions into so far hardly explored sound worlds. Björn Meyer, Park Stickney and Araxi Karnusian dab a jazz of delicate beauty into the soul, finely grooving, humming rather than screaming, dream-walking rather than galloping.
